Biography

I live in Madrid. But I’m from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. And that, like it or not, stays with you.

You can hear it when I talk. I can go neutral, but I’m a firm believer in accent and flavour. Always in service of the story, though.

I’ve been at this for more than ten years. Trying, failing, learning… mostly failing. Camera, stage, street. Wherever it takes me.

I studied at the Instituto del Cine de Canarias, but I don’t really buy the idea that you ever simply know how to act. I wish. I’m still working on it.

I like working from what’s alive. Trying things, getting it wrong if I have to, finding that detail that turns a character from an idea into someone.

I also like working through play. Playing, trying things without fear, not treating it as something rigid. Because when it becomes just work, for me, something gets lost.

I’m pretty open. I like the team, the atmosphere, things happening. I also know when to keep quiet and get serious. Not everything is a joke. But a little bit is.

I commit. A lot. I’m one of those who keep turning it over even after they’ve called cut.

In short: drive and commitment.
And if I have to choose, truth over posing.

“I’m not heavy metal, I’m authentic, madam”
— Kika, 1993

If you’d like to work with me, drop me a line. Or get in touch with my agency, La Revolución del Arte.

To make interesting things or to give me feedback. Just don’t expect me to call you «muyayo» (Canarian for “mate”).
